Save the Children

We were really lucky last Saturday to have Tricia Puskar stop by Panera's and tell us all about the Knit One, Save One program. Last year we participated in the Caps for the Capitol program. It was quite a success. The preemie caps are being continued this year until  the end of the year. They will again be part of a kit  for new mothers in extremely poor areas  of the world. Many infants don't make it through the first day, let alone the first year. So if you wish to make preemie caps, too, go to SavetheChildren.org/KnitOneSaveOne for more info. We will have a few handouts at the Yarn Ball on Saturday. We found patterns at the website for knitters and crocheters last year.
Even though things seem very unsettled in the US right now, a small gesture can mean a life in another area of the world. We will be sending ours as a group. You can join with us (dhalpern3@comcast.net) or send on your own.
