Cute Baby Sweaters

Shelli just finished these 2 sweaters for twin granddaughters of a good friend. They are from the top down and the yarn does the striping. Of course, she changed the design a little. Don't we all?

Some more items for the yarn ball

Karen has reminded me that we have 8 books of Embellished Crochet that have been signed by Cari. We also have a signed copy of Blueprint Crochet from Robyn. We also have many of the crocheted items from Cari's book. It's kind of cool to say you have the exact item that has been photographed in a book.
Karen also took pictures of two more crusher hats. These two are made from 100% alpaca.

Finally, two absolutely darling baby hats. Can't you just see little ones wearing these fun hats this coming winter? They've both been designed by Karen.

All these great items will be at the Yarn Ball. If you haven't received a personal evite, you can ask for one at 3riverscrochet@gmail.com

Rebecca Shows Amelia How to Model

Rebecca is modeling a military cap that is really popular right now. It's a size large (great if you have lots of hair like Rebecca or a big head like me) Circumference is 21". Take note Amelia: Mom is awake and smiling. Oh well, I guess we'll give her a little more time to shape up. I'm working on a smaller version of the cap.

Rebecca made this comfort shawl for a neighbor. It's the first thing she's had time to work on since Amelia's arrival.

More Items for the Yarn Ball

New items are coming in all the time. I finished crocheting these items last week. A hairpin multi-colored shawl with beaded edging. Fingerless gloves in broomstick crochet. Finally a little boy's vest (size 6-9 mos) in Tunisian crochet with kitty buttons.
Evites for the ball will be coming out soon and I will start a concentrated effort to show you all the items being raffled and auctioned, as well as items like these with suggested donation amounts.

Wish Theresa Would Learn to Knit Already

Whenever someone says that Theresa is an excellent knitter, etc. Theresa will say "oh, I'm not that good; I need to learn more".
Well this shawl is part of an outfit that won an award at Stitches (a yarn convention with classes, etc) in Chicago. I hope the close up shows off the beading as well as the stitches. Can you imagine what she might accomplish if she really were a good knitter?

Of course, the chubby rascal on the table is another Stanley destined for the Yarn Ball. Theresa made him, too

Pat's Sweater

Anyone who has been following the blog for the past year and a little more should remember bits and pieces about Pat's sweater.

Pat determined she would make herself a sweater in the style of one of her favorite sweaters. We all loved the yarn and the color. We mentioned whenever Pat reached another milestone in her design. We were so pleased to see her continue and never give up even when things got tough. At different times knitters in the group helped Pat out.

But the great help was Shirley, who told Pat what to do, what not to do, and what came next. So just as proud are we are of Pat's accomplishment we also are proud of Shirley who never once stopped supporting her friend. We should all have such friends.

The sweater looks wonderful. Why isn't she wearing it? She says it's got wool in it and can't figure out how she ever purchased a yarn with wool. Well, perhaps she will wear something light under it. Because we would all love to see the sweater on her at the ball.

Frog Hats

One of a kind frog hats. To fit children, the hats have a circumference of 18-19". We have a frog prince and tree frog. If you want one of these hats you'll have to get to the Yarn ball early (7:30). Like most handmade items: just one of a kind.
