Scarves 78 and counting

We actually reached the 60 scarves in 60 days but we kept collecting until we were sending off the items to the women's shelter. We'll be sending the special olympics scarves separately and I'll photograph those when they are all in and ready to be sent. Some of you will be able to spot your donated yarn or scarf (ves). 

Fashion Show : The End

Last but not least our darling baby in her fantastic knitted yellow sweater.

I apologize for the quality of some of the photos (missing heads, etc) but these people just didn't stand still! What kind of fashion show is that?

Finally we have Becky in the fabulous free form sweater crocheted by her mom Lyn. 

She was our fantastic hostess. Has done a great job three years running and still going full steam. We all thank her for a wonderful time.

Fashion Show Part 4

                                                                                                                                                     The first two pictures are Karen and Bradley, a very yarn enthusiastic couple. Bradley learned to knit about a year ago and he made both these sweaters. I'm not sure about the green sweater, but I know he designed the gray one. Karen is wearing really cool socks. But I chopped off Bradley's head and Karen's feet!

Chris is wearing a shawl she crocheted and designed herself.

Lisa is unique. She really is a great crocheter, but who else can say it's made from her yarn from her own sheep? I'm not sure but she probably designed the shawl, too.

Fashion Show: Part 3

Karen is showing off her beautiful shawl. Theresa appears to be attempting to get the item right off her back, but I suspect like all yarn enthusiasts, she is just petting the garment. Check out the awesome socks on her hands! Of course, you can't see the ones she's wearing on her feet.

This young man has just learned  to crochet and is showing off the scarf he is working on. WIPs are good in a fashion show, too. His sisters were in a previous posting.

Our little girl Sierra is showing off Grandpa Joe's handiwork. Looks comfy and glam all at the same time.

This is Susan's  knitted skirt. It's absolutely perfect. And fits perfectly. You can find the pattern in the magazine Knitty.  

Yarn Ball: The Fashion Show Part 2

Well here I am in a jacket and designed by Dora Ohrenstein. Then I made a tank from the leftover yarn: knitted and crochetetd!

No one staued still for very long so on some of the pix we just

barely caught a look.

Shelli is wearing a vest she made years ago and has been

working mostly on gifts she has given away (can't wear those!). But she's making something for Larry (her DH) now; maybe he'll wear it next year?

Becky 's design shows much better without the the pumpkins peeking through! She's thinking of moving on to a sweater next. A group does that. Encourages and challenges you.

Lyn's wearing a design she basically changed so much it's really hers. Lace really becomes her.

Finally we have a lovely dragonfly vest that was made on a knitting machine. I've forgotten her name but she's certainly accomplished.

Two sisters showing off their projects. A great potholder and then a timely tote. Sarah will be able to use that tote for the next 4 years at least! A rather advanced project.

Another advanced project that unfortunately isn't showing off its beading. Lisa made a wonderful lace shawl.

Yarn Ball Part 1

Well we've all agreed that the ball was a success. 

You can see all the items that were for sale and being auctioned off. The entrance way where donations were collected. The area was a bit jammed. Then the really enjoyable trio, who were excellent. 

I didn't take pictures of the spread but it was awesome (out in the kitchen).
